- Rules will follow the Michigan High School Athletic Association (MHSAA) unless outlined in this form.
- Do not bring basketballs – Big Cat provides basketballs.
- Sportsmanship: If the coach is demonstrating unsportsmanlike conduct, the officials or director will take a timeout to deal with the situation. The timeout will be charged to the coach’s team. If the team’s fans are demonstrating unsportsmanlike conduct, the coach will be forced to take a time out and the coach will be responsible for dealing with the unsportsmanlike fan. If the coach does not have a time out, it will cost his team a coaching technical. If unsportsmanlike conduct persists, the fan will be treated like a coach and be given 2 technical fouls (4 points), possession of the ball, and ejection from the premises.
- Any technical foul will result in 2 points (No Free Throws) for opposing team and possession of the ball. Flagrant fouls are 2 points and automatic ejection. Intentional fouls are 2 free throws and possession of the ball.
- If a coach/parent gets ejected, they must leave the building immediately, and they cannot coach the next game or be present in the gym for the remainder of that day.
- 5th-7th grade plays two 12 minute stop clock halves and 8th Grade play two 14 minute halves stop clock.
- 3 time outs allowed per game.
- Must Play ½ court man to man with a 15 + point lead! No press, no zone defense.
- All ties after Regulation will result in a 3 man shoot off between the teams. Whichever team has the possession arrow will shoot first from the free throw line.
- No outside food or beverages will be allowed (player water bottles are the exception). Teams must clean up their bench and throw away water bottles after their game.
- 4th, 5th & 6th divisions will use a legal 28.5 size ball.
- Hard casts are not allowed.
- Entry fee for visitors is $5.00 per person. Seniors are $1.00 and kids 10 & under are free.
- In the 4th Grade Division, everyone must play half court man to man, no presses or half court zone defenses. Full court man press is allowed the last 30 seconds of the game. There will be two 16 minute running clock halves except for: Shooting Free Throws, Time Outs, and Final 2 minutes of each half. Shooting fouls are automatically awarded one 1pt with 1 Free Throw shot for potential 2pts. If the player made the basket and was fouled, they will shoot the 1 foul shot for the potential 3pt play as normal. One and Ones will be shot and scored as normal (2 Free Throws if the first FT is made).
- In the 5th Grade Division, everyone must play half court man-to-man defense or full court man-to-man defense. Teams are allowed to press but it must be man-to-man. No traps or zone defenses are allowed.
- 6th – 8th Grade can play any defenses they want.
